The Central Bohemian Region is the largest in the Czech Republic. It has a population of 1.3 million and covers 11% of the country’s area. It has a convenient location around Prague, the natural economic, political and business centre of the country. There is strong interdependence and cooperation between Prague and the Central Bohemian Region in commerce, industry and research. The region benefits from a high-quality, educated workforce, a long industrial tradition, and good transport connections to main European roads, factors that contribute significantly to the growth of the competitiveness of the region.
